Chanderi Sarees


The legends of Chanderi Silks traces back to the time of the Vedic period, where the fine quality of fabrics was woven with fine silks and threads of Gold. Shishupal, Lord Krishna’s cousin was the person who found this art of weaving Chanderi and gifted it to royals and emperors. The credit for patronizing the silk is also shared with Mughals, which then became their favorite drape.

On the fine piece of colored fabric of silk, various designs, motifs, floral art, geometric designs were carefully handcrafted. Owing to the growing demand, there are several families, which learned the art, and almost 3,500 looms giving jobs to almost 18,000 people directly or indirectly, had changed the course of history, and the livelihood of the people in Madhya Pradesh. Thus, each piece of the saree is a part of history, which has traveled through all courses of history.

Today, the glossy saree is ultra-glossy, chic, elegant, and lightweight which represents the supreme tastes of elite people, who wish to enjoy the finest fabrics, which are rich in their style and color.
