Ajrakh Sarees

The exquisite style of Rajasthan and Gujarat has influenced other parts of the world as Persia, and even Afganistan to emerge with a gorgeous style. It employs the techniques of hand block printing, and use natural vegetable dyes to color the fabric. Each piece of fabric goes through several processes, where it involves, preprocessing in special dyes, and dung of camel. The subtle yellow color is achieved by dunking the cloth in the solutions of Myrobalan, extracted from the powdered nut of the Harde tree. Once sun-dried, each cloth is then given an outline of the design with gum Arabic. It is interesting to note that, colors are obtained from natural things like turmeric, pomegranate seeds, and jaggery. It is the confluence of Indian style blended with other finesse of the world.
